Lenskart, a well-known eyewear brand in India, has shared that it is working on a new pair of AI-powered smartglasses called “B by Lenskart.” The company has said these glasses will have a Google Gemini Live-based voice assistant, Sony cameras, and various AI features. They are planning to launch the product by the end of 2025. Let’s take a look at what these new AI smartglasses might offer.
The new smartglasses from Lenskart are named “B by Lenskart.”
These glasses will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, which is the same one used in the Ray-Ban Meta smartglasses. Lenskart says the glasses will be based on the Google Gemini 2.5 AI model and will have an smart assistant that can talk to the user smoothly.
These smartglasses have a built-in camera with a Sony image sensor.
This means users can take photos or record videos directly from the glasses. They also support UPI payments, live translation, and health tracking. Users can pay by scanning QR codes with the camera, which might include UPI Lite and other payment systems.
Lenskart is also planning to make its smartglasses platform available to Indian app developers.
This means developers in India can create apps specifically for these glasses or adapt their existing ones. The company wants to work with developers in food delivery, entertainment, fitness, and ticket booking. Apps like Zomato, Swiggy, and BookMyShow may soon be available on the “B by Lenskart” platform.
Meta has already made a name for itself in AI smartglasses with the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses.
Now, the “B by Lenskart” glasses are likely to mark a new phase in the Indian tech scene. With an AI assistant, built-in camera, and support for payments, these smartglasses could help bring technology into daily life. This seems like a big move to bring AI and smart wearables closer to Indian users.
